Where we'll be
In the morning, we will visit the ancient gate of the Appian Way and the wall museum, then a 2 hours fantastic walk (or ride on the bike) in the best-preserved section of the OLD APPIAN WAY.. a little bit distant from the city center.
An easy bike ride of 2 hours, also for not professional bikers + 1-hour walking, seeing the highlights of the archeological national park.
We will visit what is left from that time: villas with mosaics, many ancient tombs, street signs from the time of Paul, and the same vegetation of Paul's days.
It will be exciting to retrace together the same footsteps of the apostle in an atmosphere out of time.
After that, we will visit inside the Villa of Maxentius and many other highlights of the park, walking or riding.Then we will be back in the old city. We leave the car and continue walking until the end of the tour, visiting Maximus Circus and the meat and vegetables market until the Tiberine island.
After this, we will eat around 2 pm in a very popular pizza hut, to try the famous Roman pinsa of 2000 years ago! This food stop is not included in the tour price.
After that, we will head to the Theatre of Marcellus, Capitoline hill, Caffarelli terrace, and Roman Forum from the panoramic point where all the area is visible. Then we will discover the Ceasar and Augustus forums. Close by, we will stop for unique ice cream at www.gelatiflor.com
The last page of our trip will be-
- Arch of Titus and triumphal road
- Arch of Constantine
- Colosseum from outside
Tour will end in the Colosseum area, close to a metro stop.
